Solo riders miss out on the many benefits of riding with others
Why are so many riders riding solo?

Riding with a partner helps:
Core question:
How can I help these solo riders overcome these preventative problems in order to reap the benefits of riding with others?
Strava is the key
What is Strava?
Strava is an app that tracks and records your rides, it provides maps, data and statistics for your riding.
Its 3 main features are:
Track & Analyze, Share & Connect, Explore & Compete
A quickly growing movement
Strava currently adds 1 million users per month.
It is on track to hit 100 million users by 2022.
Strava has created a new way to compete:
Beating the community leaderboards
Strava allows riders to time different sections of their ride, getting logged and ranked within the leaderboards, driving users to compete for the best times.
"Improves personal levels"
“Can help you improve your personal level because you are chasing after your best time on a certain section, or the full trail.”
- Matt Hunt
"Its fun to compete"
:
"Its fun to follow your buddies and see what times they got and have some friendly competition over that."
- Koa Mack
"A motivator"
“The desire to improve means that you don't get complacent about your riding, pedaling that little bit harder, rather than just going through the motions.
- Richard Kelly
Stravas main goals:
“Strava makes fitness a social experience, providing motivation and camaraderie even if you’re exercising alone”
Track > Compare > Compete
Project goal:
How can we take the benefits and goals of Strava to the next level to help solo riders become:
- More confident - Better riders
Creating a pair of AR glasses designed for mountain biking that allow riders to compete and train with simulated friends and competitors.
Understanding the basics of component layouts, additional products and core functionalities.

Focused on creating a seamless design that allowed for full peripheral vision
The Solution: Strava Comp
These AR glasses allow solo riders to compete against simulated riders on their home trails using Stravas leaderboards feature.
Using Strava Comp
How it Works
TOF Camera & Flood Illuminator
Using both of these in conjunction, Strava Comp real time 3D maps the trail as the rider is biking.
This helps accurately display the simulation on the trail and improves every time a rider rides that segment.
Holographic Projector
Integrated in the internal sidewall, the holographic projector projects the visualization onto the inner lens.
